May 2002,
Dear Anthony,
It has been almost three years since I've gone through
the career testing and conferred with you. I just
wanted to tell you that the process of self assessment
has been and is very valuable to me still. Next week
I will begin a Master's level program in education and
become a teacher - the culmination of about five years
of thought and wondering if I was going to make the
right decision. With the support of my wife and two
wonderful sons, I am about to embark on a new phase of
my life's journey and be the person God wants me to
be.
Anyway, as I reflect on all the events that have
brought me to this point, I cannot help but appreciate
the Pathfinder's mission and its value to me as a
career changer. Every day, at my job in construction
management I would dream of the time when I could stop
living for the security and the paycheck to support
the things I thought would make me happy if I only had
the courage. I realized, with your help, that the
reasons for this were partly grounded in the ways I
was - or was not - using my natural gifts and
abilities.
It will be uncharted territory from here on - but what
a wonderful feeling to follow my heart. I'm proud to
say that now. Thanks.
Yours truly,
Tim
