Thank you for your offer to contact you again after our initial discussion [December 2001]. I felt it best to do this when I had made some changes, and so I have . . .

Last week I resigned from my full time position as technical writer and web site manager, to work for the company two days a week as their web developer.

I am becoming an independent journalist and photographer after investigating the options suited to my temperament and aptitudes. I am in the final stages of preparing myself for work three days a week as a syndicated journalist via an agent in Europe. I will also selling my features and photos US Canada and Australia. This time around I am better prepared and more determined. I know why I want to succeed, and why I need to succeed, and what is at stake.

The best part of your system is that it forces you to stick to commitments in building the future - a bit like planning a product with a tight set of specs at the start to stop it ending up as the wrong product. In my case, the key factor that helped me make the final decision was that just one commitment would not be met, namely, the need for photography. Otherwise I would still be going around in circles.

I have referred many people to your site and will continue to do so.
