Non-profit Program Manager to City Special Events Planner

Here's another success story that you can add to your list!!!!
I went to talk with the Special Events woman at the City of Alexandria office.
She responded well to my willingness to volunteer. I left my resume with her when I left.
Basically she asked me to come back in and meet with her boss. Shortly after that,
they suggested that I come on as an "seasonal" employee of the city doing special
events, with a distinct possibility of transitioning to a permanent part-time job. I
actually never even got to volunteer!
I will definitely keep in touch and let you know how everything progresses.
P.S. I also had good informational interviews with the National Cathedral and the Library of Congress,
but the City of Alexandria position is more in line with what I was looking for.
