Anthony:
Thanks again for your insights today.
I came back to work with sort of renewed vigor of where
I wanted to go within my company. I've even talked to my boss
and he said he would go to bat for me.
Talking about quick, two jobs posted today in HR.
One is a recruiting manager with my company the other is
Director of Training. My boss asked me which one
I wanted him to go to bat for and I told him I need to
think about it over the weekend and let him know Monday.
The recruiting manager's job paywise is a lateral
move but the work is more centered around just recruiting,
developing and executing recruiting and retention
strategies with 10-20% travel. I like travel especially
this percentage.
The other job would be a promotion but
has much more administrative strings attached.
I would have a staff to manage, a budget to manage,
students to worry over. My boss said
he thought the Directors job would be more
challenging and he's probably right, but my gut is
leaning towards the recruiter position.
The recruiter position just seems like I can
"do more of my own thing" a lot of the time,
instead of depending on many others.
