Making Smart Career Choices

The following list of resource links are tools to help you do a reality check on the career choices you are considering. The career choices lists out there can be overwhelming. To make your research more manageable, start by defining what you need to excel a career. Think in terms of the inner "guts" of your career path or the day-to-day elements and specifications that shape the actual career activities, subject matter and work environment.

Most importantly, get your natural talents measured professionally to help you narrow down the career possibilities to a short list that fits what you do best. Once you have a specific "zone" of careers that fit your talent profile, you'll be ready to do extensive research to see what career choices fit your career specs.

Making smart career choices is an adventurous process of going inside to ask what you must have as a part of your career, and going outside to investigate where your desires match reality. The process of making a career choice is a balancing act between inside and outside research that can take several months or longer. You'll make more progress with one foot in both worlds.
